Software Engineer III, CCAP

Build and operate carrier integration platform components, third-party APIs, and internal tooling that improve shipping coverage and reliability. The role requires 4+ years of production software experience, Python or Go proficiency, distributed-systems expertise, and comfort with on-call operations.

About the job

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and deliver software components for the carrier integration platform, including new development, refactoring, and deprecation.
  • Build and maintain third-party carrier API integrations, improving the reliability and maintainability of existing integrations.
  • Own software quality end to end, from design through implementation, release, and production monitoring.
  • Partner with product, support, and engineering teams to translate carrier capability needs into working software.
  • Build internal tools for launching, operating, and troubleshooting carrier integrations.
  • Contribute to technical direction through story refinement, design reviews, and code reviews.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation and resolve operational issues within your area.
  • Support teammate growth through peer review, design feedback, documentation, and onboarding.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience building and shipping production software.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently deliver software components from design through release and monitoring.
  • Experience with third-party APIs and integrations.
  • Experience debugging and operating distributed systems in production, including on-call participation.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Experience giving and receiving code and design feedback.
  • Working knowledge of Python or Go, with the ability to become effective in the other.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in logistics, shipping, or carrier/marketplace integrations.
  • Experience with authentication and API security practices.
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting for technical decisions.
  • Experience applying AI tooling to accelerate development.
  • Experience in a distributed, remote-first engineering organization.
