Principal Engineer
Leads a company-wide shift toward agentic engineering while remaining hands-on in software development, cloud architecture, prototyping, and technical ownership. The role requires extensive full-stack and SaaS experience, strong AI/LLM expertise, and the ability to influence global engineering teams.

Responsibilities
- Lead the transition from traditional code generation to agentic workflows.
- Define architecture, guardrails, and patterns for building and managing AI agents across the development lifecycle.
- Build prototypes, write code, and architect agent workflows as an individual contributor.
- Own the security, quality, scalability, and performance of products delivered from the Belfast hub.
- Oversee the architecture, design, and delivery of products built and deployed on AWS.
- Influence architectures, designs, and engineering standards across the global product development team.
- Champion innovation and continuous improvement, including technology roadmaps focused on AI and automation.
- Develop prototypes and proofs of concept supporting AI and agentic technology recommendations.
- Assist with recruiting and hiring technical talent.
- Guide, mentor, and evaluate technical talent.
Requirements
- 15+ years of overall relevant software engineering experience.
- 8+ years of experience within world-class product companies.
- 10+ years of strong full-stack software development experience.
- 5+ years of experience architecting, designing, and building high-scale, high-performance SaaS products.
- 5+ years of cloud experience.
- Proven understanding of large language models, prompt engineering, vector databases, and AI agent frameworks.
- Clear vision for shifting engineering from manual coding to agent management.
- Strong communication and influencing skills across multiple geographic locations.
- Proven cross-functional collaboration experience.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to big data environments, including data processing and analytics.
- Experience in ecommerce.
