Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build tools for MongoDB Atlas that help users manage globally distributed MongoDB deployments.
• Develop APIs and customer-facing interfaces for interacting with stored data and understanding deployment health and performance.
• Work across frontend and backend tasks as a full-stack engineer.
• Design and architect modern, scalable, highly available web applications.
• Work with databases and solve challenging problems in distributed environments.
• Collaborate effectively as part of a diverse engineering team.

Requirements

• Full-stack engineering experience with willingness to work on frontend and backend systems.
• Experience designing and architecting modern, scalable, highly available web applications.
• Experience working with databases.

• Commitment to continued learning and expanding technical knowledge.

Nice-to-Haves

• Knowledge of database internals and tuning mechanisms, particularly indexing.
• Experience with TypeScript, React, and Node.js, including maintaining dependency ecosystems.
• Experience with WebSocket-based client-to-server communication.
• Familiarity with developing and supporting microservice architectures using Kubernetes.

Compensation and Benefits

• U.S. base salary: $126,000–$248,000 USD.
