About the role

Responsibilities

  • Review and disposition transaction monitoring alerts, investigate potentially suspicious activity, and coordinate the preparation and filing of SARs where applicable.
  • Conduct KYC reviews and remediation, including investigating customer risk indicators and resolving escalated onboarding or account issues.
  • Own ongoing OFAC and sanctions rescreening processes and maintain regulator-ready documentation and audit trails.
  • Perform retrospective transaction reviews and work through existing monitoring and KYC backlogs.
  • Support AML audits, regulatory examinations, and diligence requests from banking, payments, FCM, and strategic partners.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Payments, Compliance, and Operations to improve automation and controls across AML, KYC, fraud, sanctions, and transaction-monitoring workflows.
  • Identify emerging financial-crime risks associated with new products, payment methods, customer types, and international expansion, and translate them into practical controls.
  • Develop metrics and reporting covering alert volumes, investigation outcomes, turnaround times, KYC remediation, and other program-effectiveness indicators.
  • Support broader market-surveillance and DCM compliance initiatives where financial crime and trading activity intersect.

Requirements

  • Significant hands-on experience investigating and dispositioning transaction-monitoring alerts and identifying potentially suspicious activity.
  • Strong familiarity with SAR investigation, drafting, escalation, and filing requirements.
  • Experience designing or materially improving AML, KYC, fraud, or transaction-monitoring policies, procedures, controls, and workflows.
  • Experience in a regulated fintech, broker-dealer, financial institution, crypto or digital-asset company, payments business, exchange, or similarly complex financial environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of KYC/CDD, OFAC and sanctions screening, customer-risk assessment, and financial-crime typologies.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a high-volume environment without sacrificing investigative rigor or attention to detail.
  • Sound judgment when escalating activity, with the ability to distinguish meaningful risk from noise.
  • Willingness to move between program design and hands-on execution.
  • Strong organization and ability to create structure in an evolving regulatory environment.
