About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services for episode and podcast management workflows.
  • Contribute to user-facing surfaces and frontend experiences using React and TypeScript.
  • Create and evolve APIs and services connecting user experiences with scalable internal infrastructure.
  • Improve system performance and developer experience across the stack.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers across multiple teams to align requirements and deliver integrated experiences.
  • Contribute to technical discussions, RFCs, and platform decisions.
  • Support engineers and maintain high standards for code quality and operational practices.
  • Contribute to experimentation, ownership, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Requirements

  • Experience building and operating production backend systems using Java, Ruby on Rails, or similar languages and frameworks.
  • Some experience with React and TypeScript, or willingness to develop frontend skills.
  • Familiarity with distributed systems concepts, including asynchronous processing, service-to-service APIs, storage design, and observability.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Clear communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Interest in agile software development and continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with or interest in podcast ecosystems and creator tooling.
