Accounts Receivable Specialist

The Accounts Receivable Specialist manages collections, reconciliations, billing inquiries, payment coordination, and customer account records for a strategic portfolio. The role requires finance or accounts receivable experience, strong communication and negotiation skills, and high accuracy in a cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

  • Contact overdue accounts within an assigned portfolio of strategic customers to collect outstanding balances.
  • Conduct collection activities and communicate with clients regarding collection issues, actions, payment inquiries, invoicing, and account reconciliation.
  • Maintain accurate customer files, correspondence, and management status reports.
  • Research billing issues and perform regular account reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly account breakdowns and analyses.
  • Provide invoice copies, credits, and unapplied payment details.
  • Prepare and reconcile accounts, unapplied credit balances, and credit notes.
  • Coordinate monthly pre-authorized payments with customers and the Payments team.
  • Participate in customer and internal-partner calls supporting recovery of past-due invoices.
  • Complete ad hoc tasks supporting accounts receivable team objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or 3+ years of accounts receivable processing experience.
  • Prior finance experience; accounts receivable experience preferred.
  • AI fluency and/or experience using Microsoft 365 Copilot.
  • High moral judgment when handling confidential information and monetary transactions.
  • Strong diplomatic, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in reconciliations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Working knowledge of the US health care system.
