Senior Software Engineer - Frontend - Consumer
Build and lead consumer-facing web and mobile experiences for Kraken using React, React Native, and TypeScript. The role requires 6+ years of software development experience, strong experimentation and testing practices, and expertise in modern frontend architecture.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain consumer-facing features across web with React and mobile with React Native, owning work from concept through production monitoring.
- Lead product work across discovery, technical design, release, monitoring, experimentation, and iteration.
- Drive A/B testing and experimentation by forming hypotheses, designing experiments, analyzing results, and iterating based on data.
- Partner with Product, Design, Data, and Mobile Engineering teams to create cohesive consumer experiences.
- Make technical decisions about frameworks and architecture, including routing, rendering, state management, data fetching, and component architecture.
- Set standards for functional correctness, accessibility, performance, and testability.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Lead complex cross-platform initiatives across web and mobile surfaces.
- Stay current with React ecosystem tooling, React Server Components, concurrent features, and streaming.
- Use AI-assisted development tools throughout the software development lifecycle while reviewing and owning produced code.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software development experience focused on consumer-facing web and/or mobile products.
- Deep expertise in TypeScript and the React ecosystem.
- Production experience with React Native and cross-platform mobile development, including App Store and Google Play release pipelines.
- Experience with Next.js, including App Router, React Server Components, and client/server boundary decisions.
- Hands-on experience with A/B testing, feature flags, and experimentation frameworks such as LaunchDarkly or Optimizely.
- Experience with WebSockets or Server-Sent Events for real-time UI updates.
- Strong testing experience with Jest, React Testing Library, and Playwright or Cypress.
- Familiarity with modern build tooling and CI/CD pipelines, including performance profiling.
- Experience in fintech, crypto, payments, or other high-trust consumer products.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Active experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or Copilot.

- Experience working on products requiring high correctness and user confidence.
- Experience collaborating across globally distributed, agile teams.
