Responsibilities

  • Advise sustainability leaders at the world's leading companies on advancing their sustainability programs.
  • Independently lead strategic engagements across target-setting, decarbonization, environmental impact management, and voluntary and regulatory reporting.
  • Partner closely with customers to craft the business case for sustainability.
  • Stay ahead of emerging frameworks, regulations, and market developments; translate sustainability trends and regulatory changes into actionable guidance for internal teams and customers.
  • Explore sustainability needs in emerging topics and industries; prototype how Watershed brings value to customers.
  • Identify opportunities and build solutions at the intersection of sustainability, advisory, and technology.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience, including at least 2 years at a consulting firm with demonstrated excellence in client-facing roles and at least 4 years in sustainability (experience can overlap).
  • Deep understanding of global supply chains, manufacturing processes, and/or procurement functions.
  • Comfortable using and speaking to data; systematic, detail-oriented, and thrives in fast-paced environments.
  • Expertise in corporate decarbonization; familiar with key climate frameworks such as GHGP, PCAF, SBTi, ISO, and reporting frameworks such as CSRD, CCDAA, ASRS, TCFD, CDP.
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator; able to present complex analyses and recommendations to C-suite audiences and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Passionate about solving climate change and excited to define the future of corporate sustainability at a high-growth startup.
  • Excel at driving strategic initiatives in complex organizations; able to influence decision-making while managing multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Direct experience working within key sustainability-adjacent corporate functions (e.g., procurement).
  • Direct experience working on decarbonizing physical supply chains.
  • Previous experience working in SaaS climate tech.
  • Advanced degree in sustainability, climate science, environmental engineering, or related technical fields.
  • Fluent in multiple languages (English, Spanish, French, or German).
