SLAM Engineer
Develop and optimize on-device visual-inertial SLAM and sensor fusion pipelines for mobile capture, focusing on accuracy, robustness, low latency, and real-world performance. Requires advanced degree and hands-on experience building production VI-SLAM systems.
About the job
Real-time SLAM & Sensor Fusion
- Develop and advance on-device visual-inertial odometry and VI-SLAM pipeline, including sensor fusion across multi-camera streams, IMU, and depth.
- Implement drift correction and relocalization for production capture workflows.
- Improve robustness in challenging conditions: low-light, fast motion, textureless environments, difficult geometry.
- Optimize latency and memory footprint on mobile hardware, offloading compute to GPU where possible.
- Develop and extend calibration pipelines for camera intrinsics/extrinsics, IMU biases, and time synchronization across multi-sensor setups.
Research Integration & Evaluation
- Collaborate with deep learning team to evaluate and integrate learning-based methods with classical components in the live tracking stack.
- Build and extend evaluation methodology using real user captures.
- Translate research into production capabilities in a fast-paced environment.
