Speech Technology Research Intern
Conduct speech technology research on text-to-speech, ASR, speech-to-speech, and speech analysis models during a six-month project. The role requires a relevant master's qualification or PhD study, neural-network development experience, and Python skills.

Responsibilities
- Work with the speech technology teams on a 6-month research project.
- Investigate text-to-speech models.
- Research the state of the art in text-to-speech, automatic speech recognition, speech-to-speech models, or speech analysis.
- Develop models using PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Python.
- Collect and collate training databases.
- Test custom models and record experiment outputs.
- Assist the technical team with productization.
- Receive mentoring from experienced researchers.
- Support other research projects across the speech teams as required.
Requirements
- Master's qualification in Speech Technology or a related field such as Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or Mathematics, or current PhD study in a related field.
- Experience building and training neural network models.
- Experience with Python programming.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience programming in C, C++, or Go.
- Experience working in speech technology.
Compensation and benefits
- Total salary of £13,500 for the 6-month project, calculated at a £27,000 annual rate.
- In-person mentoring and support from experienced researchers.
