Staff Backend Engineer - Grafana App Platform| US| Remote
Staff backend engineer responsible for evolving Grafana into a scalable, multi-tenant observability application platform. The role requires production operations experience, distributed-systems expertise, strong communication, and familiarity with Go or willingness to learn it.

Responsibilities
- Build new backend features and improve the operational experience of production systems.
- Author, contribute to, and review technical design documents.
- Help shape the product and engineering roadmap.
- Mentor and support teammates while collaborating across teams.
- Participate in weekday and weekend on-call rotations.
- Use AI coding assistants for prototyping, test generation, refactoring, documentation, and incident follow-up, within security and code-quality guidelines.
Requirements
- Strong coding and operational experience, including responsibility for running software in production.
- Experience building and operating SaaS platforms at scale.
- Experience with distributed-systems concerns such as scalability, multi-tenancy, data isolation, and high availability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate across teams and align work with stakeholders.
- Pragmatic approach, with the ability to prioritize progress and work through ambiguity.
- Familiarity with Golang or willingness to learn it.
Compensation
- United States compensation range: $174,986–$209,983 USD.
- Includes Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
