VP of Finance

Responsibilities

  • Own company-wide financial models, annual operating plans, forecasts, and long-range financial planning.
  • Forecast revenue, expenses, cash, headcount, bookings, ARR, backlog, and other operating metrics.
  • Build scenario models for hiring, investments, facilities, contracts, and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide visibility into cash runway, burn, capital requirements, pricing, margins, and the financial impact of company decisions.
  • Own executive, investor, and Board financial and operating metrics, reporting, meeting materials, fundraising materials, and strategic-planning analysis.
  • Establish departmental budgets and partner with functional leaders on financial plans, budget-versus-actuals reporting, forecasts, and resource-allocation decisions.
  • Oversee outsourced accounting and tax providers; lead annual financial statement audits and manage external audit firms.
  • Maintain audit-ready records, controls, reconciliations, documentation, accounting policies, and the monthly and quarterly close process.
  • Partner with Legal, Contracts, and Operations on revenue recognition, government contracts, cost allocation, compliance, and related financial requirements.
  • Own finance activities for government contracts, including milestone billing and collections, program cost allocation, DCAA/FAR-oriented controls, cost accounting, and program reporting.
  • Support equity fundraising, debt financing, lender diligence, covenant modeling, liquidity planning, data rooms, and ongoing reporting.
  • Manage relationships with banks, lenders, auditors, insurance providers, and other financial partners.
  • Build scalable finance processes, systems, reporting infrastructure, and controls; hire and develop the finance team.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including significant leadership responsibility in a high-growth company.
  • Experience owning FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and company-wide financial models.
  • Experience leading annual financial audits and working directly with external audit firms.
  • Experience supporting institutional fundraising, Board reporting, and investor diligence.
  • Experience with debt financing, credit facilities, venture debt, or lender-backed financing.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP accounting and the connection between accounting, FP&A, and operational decision-making.
  • Strong analytical judgment and ability to turn complex financial information into clear recommendations.
  • Ability to work strategically and at a detailed level, including Board discussions and budget-variance reviews.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual salary: $235,000-$275,000.
