Software Engineer, Developer Productivity
Software Engineer owning CI/CD, build systems, and infrastructure for AI coding agents to accelerate the entire engineering organization's velocity at an AI-powered healthcare network company. Requires strong infrastructure instincts, Python/Bash expertise, and experience driving developer productivity and adoption of agentic workflows.
About the job
Responsibilities
- Own CI/CD, operational workflows, build systems, pipelines, deployment automation, and development environments to ensure the path from commit to production is fast and reliable.
- Build infrastructure that enables coding agents to operate effectively in the codebase, including sandboxed execution, CI for validating agent-generated changes, and systems providing accurate code context.
- Design and ship production tooling to automate engineering toil across the team: refactors, migrations, dependency upgrades, test generation, and PR triage.
- Drive company-wide adoption of AI-assisted and agentic development by defining golden paths, templates, and standards.
- Build eval and guardrail systems to trust and measure agent outputs.
- Define and track metrics such as CI health, time-to-first-PR, deploy frequency, and agent-merge success to measure and improve velocity.
- Partner with engineers across the team to identify friction points and convert recurring pain into scalable systems.
Requirements
- Track record of building developer tooling, internal platforms, CI/CD, or development-environment infrastructure that other engineers depend on.
- Strong systems and infrastructure instincts; writes production code, lives in terminal, builds reusable tools.
- Strong proficiency in Python and Bash/Unix.
- Deep personal experience with modern agentic development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex or similar); curiosity and evidence of shipping are key (no prior AI systems experience required).
- Demonstrated ability to drive adoption and change team workflows, beyond just delivering tools.
- Ability to move from ambiguous problems to clear, structured, shipped solutions with minimal guidance.
- Track record of moving quickly, finding shortcuts, and going to unreasonable lengths to deliver.
- High NPS with former teammates.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience building infrastructure for AI coding agents.
- Background in driving organizational change around development practices.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive compensation with meaningful equity.
- Fully covered medical, vision, and dental insurance.
- Memberships for One Medical, Talkspace, Teladoc, and Kindbody.
- Unlimited PTO and 16 weeks of parental leave.
- 401K plan, FSA, commuter benefits, DashPass.
- Daily lunch and dinner at the office after 7pm.
- Salary based on qualifications, experience, skillset, geography, and internal equity.
