About the role

Responsibilities

  • Own Parallel's field marketing presence, building and running the event engine including conferences, hackathons, meetups, executive dinners, and partner co-marketing events.
  • Decide which events to invest in, how to show up, and ensure pipeline generation from events.
  • Own event budget, target lists, and end-to-end logistics without coordinator support.
  • Collaborate with sales team to build target lists before events and execute follow-up motions after events to convert leads into meetings and pipeline.
  • Measure success by meetings booked and pipeline generated, not by attendance or badge scans.
  • Negotiate sponsorships, select events based on target audience attendance (especially AI engineers and technical buyers), and discontinue formats that do not convert.

Requirements

  • Experience running a multi-format event portfolio at a company selling to technical audiences, with a track record discussed in terms of pipeline generation rather than attendance.
  • Deep knowledge of events that AI engineers attend, understanding that formats like hackathons build more trust than traditional booths.
  • Experience hosting high-value dinners where programming drives attendee value.
  • Strong negotiation skills for sponsorships, ability to walk away from popular conferences if buyers are not attending, and experience killing underperforming event formats.
  • Ability to run flawless logistics independently, remain calm under pressure during events, and treat sales handoff and lead follow-up as core responsibilities.
  • Preference for running fewer high-impact events that drive pipeline over many low-conversion events.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Passion for applying science, creativity, and consistency to complex problems.

  • Generous equity
  • Visa sponsorships
  • 401K plans
