Senior Platform Security Engineer
Secures Datadog’s cloud infrastructure, platform building blocks, and SaaS applications by implementing scalable solutions across a multi-cloud Kubernetes environment. The role requires hands-on software engineering, application and cloud security experience, and expertise with modern security frameworks and technologies.

Responsibilities
- Solve challenging cloud infrastructure security and application security problems across core building blocks and golden paths.
- Enable engineers to build and ship secure solutions quickly.
- Build and extend Platform Security solutions.
- Influence product direction to secure infrastructure and provide internal feedback to improve products.
Requirements
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related scientific field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Hands-on implementation of solutions addressing systemic security issues.
- Experience solving complex security problems at scale in a large, multi-cloud, self-managed Kubernetes environment.
- Experience securing enterprise SaaS applications, including authentication flows, authorization patterns, and input validation at API boundaries.
- Experience securing deployment and management mechanisms for software and infrastructure changes.
- Familiarity with security frameworks such as OWASP, MITRE ATT&CK, PASTA, STRIDE, and CIS.
- Prior experience in software, platform, systems, network, cloud security, or application security engineering.
- Software engineering background with hands-on code review experience.
- Ability to work with Go, Python, or Rust.
- Experience with Kubernetes PKI and network technologies such as Consul, Envoy, Cilium, Vault, or Istio.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and Kubernetes.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Up-to-date knowledge of security best practices, technologies, and emerging threats.
