Responsibilities
Partner with Design, Product, and Engineering to craft experiences that drive business impact.
Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals for new and existing features.
Build functional, front-to-back prototypes in code when that is the fastest path to an answer.
Use AI coding tools such as Claude Code and Cursor as core parts of the design process.
Push full-stack code using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, or similar technologies to prototype, iterate, and occasionally ship to production.
Operate comfortably in a development environment, including Git workflows, local setup, reading pull requests, and collaborating with engineers.
Conduct user research and usability testing to ensure designs are user-centered and data-informed.
Contribute to a consistent, accessible design system.
Work from the San Francisco office at least four days per week, collaborating in person with Design, Product, and Engineering.
Requirements
Experience designing digital products, ideally in startup or SaaS environments with ownership of significant product surfaces.
Exceptional design taste and a strong point of view on craft.
A portfolio demonstrating UX and visual design judgment.
Proficiency with design tools such as Figma and Claude Design.
Excellent communication and storytelling skills, including the ability to present design decisions clearly and succinctly.
Growth mindset and willingness to experiment, iterate, and learn quickly.
Demonstrated ability to write and ship full-stack code using some combination of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Python.
Hands-on fluency with AI coding assistants such as Claude Code and Cursor.
Comfort with Git, terminal workflows, local builds, and reviewing or discussing code with engineers.
Experience collaborating in agile, cross-functional teams.
Designs developer tools and command-and-control interfaces for autonomous systems serving commercial and defense customers. The role requires 4+ years of product or UX design experience, strong interaction and visual design skills, user research expertise, and eligibility for a U.S. security clearance.
