Licensing Specialist

Manages multi-state physician licensing applications, renewals, compliance documentation, and coordination with state boards, vendors, physicians, and internal teams. Requires at least two years of physician licensing experience, including IMLC and state board work.

Responsibilities

  • Manage physician licensing processes end to end.
  • Initiate, track, and communicate licensing activities and expenses accurately and on time.
  • Ensure new physicians complete required licensing applications before their planned start dates.
  • Maintain current licenses and compliance requirements for existing physicians across assigned customers and states.
  • Obtain additional licenses and meet compliance needs across customers in a timely manner.
  • Communicate licensing processes and next steps clearly with physicians and internal teams.
  • Coordinate with third-party licensing vendors.
  • Support physicians with state board applications and required follow-up documentation.
  • Partner with Clinical Operations and other stakeholders to support physician onboarding and ongoing communication.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience with physician license applications.
  • Multi-state licensing experience, including the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) and state medical boards.
  • Existing contacts and relationships with state boards and the IMLC.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, time management, and multitasking abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience licensing radiologists.
  • Experience in healthcare.
  • Understanding of credentialing and payer enrollments.

Compensation

  • $31.25–$36.06 per hour, plus benefits.
