Frontend Engineer, Ads Growth

Responsibilities

• Design and ship advertiser-facing AI features and platform capabilities, including campaign assistants, creative generation, audience discovery, performance analytics, and optimization recommendations, from prototype through general availability.
• Make architectural decisions about generative AI usage, including LLM calls, workflows, skills, retrieval systems, agent loops, human review, or no AI.
• Build reliability and guardrails for LLM failure modes, including structured outputs, tool and action boundaries, retries, cost controls, tracing, evaluations, and human-in-the-loop systems.
• Define offline and online evaluations, instrument traces, run A/B tests, and connect model and product metrics to advertiser and business outcomes.
• Design AI systems for data isolation, permissioning, auditability, and policy compliance.
• Collaborate with product management, design, data science, ML platform, trust, sales, and operations teams.
• Write design documents, communicate technical trade-offs, and improve engineering practices for generative AI features.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer shipping and operating production systems.
• Hands-on experience building generative AI applications, including structured outputs, function and tool calling, prompt and context design, RAG, model routing, and model failure handling.
• Strong understanding of agent and LLM ecosystems.
• Strong systems fundamentals, including APIs, distributed systems, queues, data stores, service ownership, authentication, idempotency, retries, and observability.
• Experience defining AI system evaluations using offline datasets and online metrics.
• Experience with AI coding tools and code-assistant workflows.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including collaboration in a remote environment.
• Extensive software development experience in one or more general-purpose languages such as Python, Golang, Rust, Java, or JavaScript.

• Experience in ads, marketing technology, marketplaces, growth, recommendations, search, or analytics.
• Experience building AI systems for customer-facing products, regulated workflows, policy review, payments, or high-scale infrastructure.
• Experience building internal workflow automation for sales, operations, support, policy, trust, or engineering productivity.

Compensation and Benefits

• Base salary range: $190,800–$267,100 USD.
