Own Polymarket’s analytics modeling layer, transforming trading and application data into trusted datasets, standardized metrics, and self-serve reporting. Responsibilities
- Design and build dbt models that transform raw platform, on-chain and off-chain trading activity, and third-party data into trusted, documented datasets.
- Define core metrics, including volume, traders, retention, acquisition cost, and revenue.
- Partner with data engineers on warehouse-layer design, materialized views, incremental models, query performance, and cost optimization.
- Build and maintain reporting in Vercel dashboards and Hex for growth, marketing, finance, and markets teams.
- Translate stakeholder questions into durable analytical models rather than one-off queries.
- Write model-layer tests and monitoring to identify data-quality issues early.
- Model new products and market types as they launch.
- Maintain clear, thorough end-to-end documentation.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data analytics, or a similar role, including production ownership of a modeling layer.
- Expert SQL skills, including writing and optimizing complex queries against high-volume datasets.
- Hands-on experience with dbt or an equivalent tool, Airflow or another orchestration solution, and a modern cloud warehouse such as Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, or ClickHouse.
- Strong dimensional-modeling and metric-design skills, including judgment about when to denormalize.
- Fluency with BI tools such as Hex, Looker, or similar.
- Software engineering fundamentals, including version control, code review, and maintainable project practices.
- Genuine interest in understanding business metrics and their drivers.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving environment where business logic changes frequently.
