About the role
About You
6-8+ years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, or a related analytical role, ideally at a product-led or self-serve SaaS company.
Deep understanding of self-serve business dynamics: churn, contraction, expansion, net new revenue, and the full funnel from visitor to signup to paid conversion to upgrade.
Experience operating in distributed ownership environments; skilled at building relationships and driving alignment across product, marketing, engineering, and finance.
Comfortable with ambiguity and building from scratch (new processes, analyses, ways of looking at the business).
Strong communicator who translates complex analysis into clear recommendations for finance leadership and cross-functional partners.
Good judgment with a bias toward proactively surfacing issues and opportunities.
Use AI as a core part of high-level work: can describe built workflows, iterative evolution, impact on quality/efficiency/experience, while maintaining high standards and ownership.
Things You'll Do
Serve as the dedicated finance partner for Zapier's self-serve business, collaborating with the Chief Product Officer, SVP of Marketing, and CFO to provide a unified financial perspective across multiple functions.
Build and own forecasting, reporting, and analytical infrastructure for self-serve (largely net-new work; define what good looks like).
Analyze the self-serve funnel end-to-end: top-of-funnel acquisition through activation, conversion, expansion, and retention. Identify value leaks and biggest opportunities.
Own self-serve unit economics; provide perspective on key levers including pricing, packaging, churn reduction, and growth investments.
Use tools to self-serve data and build analyses that drive decisions (rather than relying on pre-built reports).
Proactively surface trends, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership.
Partner with product and engineering teams to understand how product changes impact financial outcomes and bring a financial lens to product investment decisions.
Own strategic finance partnership with VP of Marketing and COO, building ROI frameworks, unit economics models, and driving investment decisions for marketing and GTM. Requires 8+ years finance experience with 4+ years dedicated B2B marketing partnership.
