Responsibilities
- Design and implement algorithms and systems for framing and structural analysis, from prototypes through a shippable MVP.
- Use AI-assisted workflows while owning the correctness, maintainability, and behavior of shipped code.
- Partner with product, customer success, and engineering teams to define expected behavior, identify gaps, and support customers.
- Translate structural engineering knowledge into robust software.
- Write tests covering difficult corner cases.
- Help shape the technical direction of a new team and mentor others as it grows.
- Navigate evolving scope and priorities on an emerging team.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience, ideally with TypeScript.
- Structural or mechanical engineering experience, academic or professional.
- Familiarity with computational geometry and mathematical modeling.
- Professional fluency with modern development tools, including AI-assisted workflows.
- Ability to operate effectively amid ambiguity.
- Ability to communicate tradeoffs, delivery timelines, and decisions clearly.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience building framing, structural analysis, or CAD/CAM tooling.
- Experience with C# or Python and willingness to learn TypeScript and React.
- Interest in homebuilding, construction, or home design.
