About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Elixir services and React frontend code.
  • Work across the technology stack, including code, infrastructure, and production monitoring.
  • Optimize systems to perform well under load.
  • Use continuous integration and continuous deployment tools to ship code.
  • Collaborate with teams to deliver project priorities within deadlines.
  • Work with customers and team members on technical issues, including outages, security risks, maintenance, deployments, and support tickets.
  • Conduct research and prototyping with limited oversight.
  • Participate in constructive code reviews.
  • Collaborate with UX designers to improve product fit and usability.
  • Prepare for and participate in team meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of Elixir, React, and PostgreSQL.
  • 3+ years of experience working on professional software development projects using Elixir.
  • Strong SQL, data, and database migration experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Git, branching, and pull requests.
  • Ability to create proposals, diagrams, specifications, and analyses from user requirements.
  • Excellent debugging skills and pragmatic design experience.
  • Experience with test-driven development and automated testing frameworks.
  • Ability to understand unfamiliar codebases and make safe code changes.
  • Experience engaging with open-source projects and communities.
  • Strong analytical, technical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Passion for end-to-end ownership, production reliability, monitoring, and real-world performance.
