Product Designer

Responsibilities

• Play a pivotal role in Railway's developer experience, redefining the future of software infrastructure.
• Collaborate closely with product, support, and engineering to scope, define, design, and ship high-quality features.
• Contribute to the overall design direction of the product, leveraging creativity and problem-solving skills to address complex design challenges.
• Balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints of design solutions.
• Define workflows, prototypes, and visual design of projects.
• Learn about users, their pain points, and propose projects to fix them.
• Maintain and evolve the internal Design System.
• Work in ambiguous environments to create levers for design excellence.
• Contribute to the design culture within the company.

Requirements

• Strong portfolio showcasing user interface design, interaction design, and visual design skills, solving complex problems with attention to detail.
• Care about creating good products and constant improvement.
• Understand business needs and deliver clear, intuitive interfaces.
• Creative thinker balancing user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
• Comfortable designing, illustrating, iterating, and prototyping in Figma; open to new tools like Blender, Spline, Rive, shaders.
• Experience balancing trade-offs to ship features on time without compromising vision.
• Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication skills to articulate design decisions.
