Responsibilities
Project Planning & Management
Oversee end-to-end management of network cabling projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
Collaborate with IT departments, engineers, vendors, and other stakeholders to define project scope and requirements.
Develop project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
Travel to various domestic communities; the role requires travel for more than 75% of working time and averages approximately 15 business days per month.
Cabling Design & Implementation
Lead the design and implementation of network cabling layouts according to industry standards, including TIA/EIA-568 and ANSI/BICSI standards.
Conduct site surveys and recommend optimal cabling designs.
Manage the installation, termination, and testing of Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber-optic cabling.
Team Leadership & Coordination
Coordinate on-site cabling technicians and subcontractors.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
Provide training, guidance, and support on cabling installation and troubleshooting best practices.
Quality Control & Compliance
Ensure work meets regulatory, local-code, safety, and industry compliance requirements.
Oversee testing and certification of completed cabling systems, including signal integrity and data transmission performance.
Problem Solving & Troubleshooting
Identify and resolve installation issues and obstacles to prevent delays.
Address post-installation cabling problems and service requests.
Vendor & Client Relations
Work with third-party vendors and suppliers to procure project materials, tools, and equipment.
Maintain client relationships, provide project updates, and address concerns or scope changes.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain project records, including design diagrams, work orders, and change orders.
Prepare project progress reports and keep documentation current for audits and future reference.
Requirements
Willingness to travel and perform cabling work more than 75% of the time.
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
At least 2 years of experience in network cabling, infrastructure design, or a related field.
Experience managing and overseeing network cabling installation projects, including team leadership.
Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work in construction sites, server rooms, and other varied environments.
Ability to climb ladders, lift materials, and perform site inspections.
On-call support availability.

Experience with fiber-optic cabling and installations.
Knowledge of network infrastructure planning and design, including switches, routers, and servers.
Familiarity with cable management systems and troubleshooting tools.
