Build and evolve full-stack experiences for onX Hunt across mobile applications, APIs, backend services, and data systems. The role requires 5+ years of software development experience, strong API and distributed-systems expertise, and proficiency with Go, Elixir, or similar languages.

Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve customer-facing Hunt experiences across mobile applications, APIs, backend services, and data systems.
- Own technical solutions from design through delivery, addressing architecture, performance, scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability.
- Build and support large-scale systems throughout their lifecycle; diagnose complex technical issues and improve owned systems.
- Partner with Product, Design, QA, and engineers across teams to deliver cohesive customer experiences and manage dependencies.
- Write maintainable, well-tested code using unit, integration, and acceptance testing.
- Review code, share technical knowledge, and mentor other engineers.
- Integrate thoughtful AI experimentation into daily workflows and validate its effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, including 3+ years focused professionally on API development.
- Experience building and debugging distributed, scalable microservices architectures.
- Strong knowledge of modern API and systems design and development.
- Experience with relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL.
- Experience with Go, Elixir, or other functional programming languages.
- Experience with iOS or Android development.
- Ability to evaluate technologies based on stability, performance, debuggability, and maintainability.
- Permanent US work authorization.
- Ability to travel occasionally for multiple days to a corporate office or strategic location.
Nice to Have
- GraphQL experience.
- Python experience.
- Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code experience, such as Terraform.
- Familiarity with a major cloud provider such as Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with geospatial databases such as PostGIS.
- Experience with CockroachDB.
- Experience with event-based workflows.
- Experience working with distributed teams.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $130,000-$153,000 upon hire.
- Full-time employees are eligible for common share options and an annual 10% bonus based on company performance.
