About the job
Responsibilities
- Build and run the content engine to turn launches and engineering work into a reliable cadence of high-quality technical content.
- Design launch narratives, including announcements, docs-adjacent explainers, and demos; work closely with the Product team to build playbooks that reduce overhead for each launch.
- Identify customer stories, interview engineering teams, and write compelling content that resonates with other engineers.
- Produce high-bar technical content such as deep dives, benchmarks, teardowns, comparisons, and argumentative essays.
- Extend content across formats including video, YouTube, docs, changelog, conference talks, and company social accounts.
Requirements
- 5+ years writing for a technical audience (developer media, technical content marketing, DevRel, or engineering-adjacent journalism).
- Published work that has gained traction (e.g., front page of Hacker News, widely quoted threads, content engineers share, or self-built audience); links to writing samples required.
- Deep enough understanding of technical concepts to present them credibly; genuine curiosity about infrastructure, CI, and the broader market.
- Ability to extract stories from engineers by reading design docs or pull requests, developing a thesis, and asking targeted questions.
- Write with a distinct point of view, favoring arguable over safe content.
- Very online with strong instincts for developer social channels, Hacker News, X, and early trends.
- High autonomy to decide what is worth writing with no existing manager, briefs, or calendar.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience extending content into video, conference talks, or other multimedia formats.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive base + equity.
- Medical, Vision, and Dental insurance.
- 401k match.
- Unlimited PTO.
- Annual offsite.
- Early-exercise stock options.
- 12 weeks fully paid parental leave (US).
