Senior Resin Process Engineer
Leads resin manufacturing processes with suppliers, drives quality/cost improvements, implements equipment changes, and conducts root cause analysis for chemical production. Requires 8+ years experience, BS in engineering, and supplier-facing expertise.
Responsibilities
- Serve as primary technical point of contact with key resin suppliers; lead projects for new products, process/packaging changes, and manufacturing improvements.
- Support implementation of chemical manufacturing processes, instrumentation, and equipment at supplier sites for productivity and quality.
- Drive improvements in quality, cost, and lead-time using advanced problem-solving tools.
- Collaborate with supply chain to monitor supplier performance, assess capabilities, and inform sourcing decisions.
- Participate in strategic sourcing, qualify alternative suppliers, evaluate costs, and pursue reductions.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for resin quality/production issues.
- Design manufacturing processes using advanced quality planning, risk reduction, and audit tools.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- B.S. in Chemical, Biochemical, Industrial, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years in chemical production or similar process manufacturing.
- Experience with manufacturing facilities; supplier-facing preferred.
- Willing to travel ~20% to supplier sites.
Technical Skills
- Process and quality control (SPC, advanced quality planning).
- Structured problem-solving (Lean Six Sigma, DoE, Shainin Red X).
- Supplier quality management/development.
- Chemical regulatory knowledge.
Compensation
- Bay Area, CA: $137,600 - $237,600 per year (target midpoint $172,000 - $198,000 based on experience). #LI-Onsite
