Product Designer, Claude Code
Designs polished, innovative user interfaces for Claude Code and related AI tools, focusing on agentic coding experiences across terminal and desktop. Collaborates with engineers and researchers, prototypes rapidly with code, and ships high-quality work in ambiguous, fast-paced environments. Requires 8+ years experience and AI-native design thinking.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the strategic direction of our tools, rooted in deep user empathy
- Define feature areas with exceptional attention to detail and polish, identifying opportunities to improve quality and consistency of broader flows
- Craft beautiful, polished, and delightful user interfaces that build trust and showcase the power of our AI technology
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, AI researchers and other stakeholders to define product vision, strategy and roadmaps
- Rapidly prototype ideas using code and other methods to communicate concepts and build excitement
- Find creative ways to ship high-quality work in a fast-paced, often ambiguous, resource-constrained startup environment

- Claude Code: Evolve our industry-leading coding tool, across terminal and Desktop, to deepen the breadth and depth of agentic coding.
- Growth: Design intuitive onboarding flows; Uncover barriers and create experiences that empower users.
- Developer Platform: Support frontier capabilities and API features via tooling, workflows, and documentation.
- Consumer: Evolve the Claude mobile app, with a focus on everyday lives: learning, creative projects, personal planning and problem-solving.
What we’re looking for
- You ship fast and stay in motion. Prototype in code, stay scrappy, know when to polish versus learn.
- You're rethinking the basics. Question fundamental assumptions and invent patterns native to AI.
- You're AI-native in how you work. Use Claude Code or similar tools as a creative partner.
- You stay close to the models. Design for the product we're becoming.
- You elevate craft while moving fast. Care about details—the pixels, the copy, the edge cases.
You may be a good fit if you have:
- 8+ years of product design experience (complex workflows, enterprise/B2B SaaS, developer tools, or API products preferred)
- Strong portfolio showcasing user-centric design thinking, polished UI craftsmanship, and innovative interaction paradigms
- Proven track record of executing end-to-end on large and complex products in ambiguous environments
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Passion for crafting scaled, highly impactful, safe and beneficial AI technologies
- Experience with prototyping, especially using front-end code (e.g. HTML/CSS/JS) preferred
Annual Salary: $260,000—$305,000 USD
