Platform Staff Engineer- Universal Directory
Staff engineer on Universal Directory Platform team builds scalable distributed systems for identity management using Java and cloud infrastructure. Requires 7+ years Java experience, expertise in Spring Boot/Hibernate, and 3+ years deploying services on AWS/GCP.
Responsibilities
- Understand identity management group codebase and development process: Jira, Technical Designs, Code Review, Testing, and Deployment.
- Develop and implement frameworks and toolings for Universal Directory Service platform.
- Design and implement high-performance distributed scalable and fault-tolerant software components.
- Quickly deliver high-quality bug fixes and handle customer-reported issues.
- Conduct quality code reviews and automated testing.
- Partner with Product Development, QA, and Site Reliability Engineering teams for scoping development and deployment work.
Requirements
- 7+ years of Software Development in Java, preferably with Hibernate and Spring Boot.
- 5+ years of development experience building services, internal tools and frameworks.
- 3+ years experience automating and deploying large scale production services in AWS, GCP or similar.
- Hands-on understanding with practical application of SQL databases.
- Experience working with systems of scale ranging from monolithic applications to microservices.
- Ability to work effectively with distributed teams.
Nice-to-Haves
- B.S. Computer Science or equivalent.
- Experience with Go programming language.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience working with Active Directory or Microsoft Azure.
