About the role

What You’ll Be Working On

Team Leadership & People Management

  • Directly manage a team of Electrical Engineers and Designers
  • Lead regular 1-on-1s, performance reviews, and career development planning

Resource Allocation

  • Manage the engineering queue and assign personnel to projects based on expertise and production deadlines

Technical Governance

  • Lead high-level technical design reviews
  • Serve as final authority on complex load calculations, project design requirements, control system designs, and Short-Circuit Current Rating (SCCR) analysis

Compliance Authority

  • Serve as primary point of contact for UL/NFPA/NEC regulatory bodies
  • Ensure product lines (UL 508A, UL 891) maintain certifications

Design Standards

  • Establish and enforce "The Crusoe Standard" for electrical documentation, including drawing standardization, BOM accuracy, and wiring methodologies

Workflow Optimization

  • Identify and implement improvements to design-to-manufacturing handoff using ERP/PDM systems

Value Engineering

  • Lead cross-functional cost-reduction initiatives with Procurement and Manufacturing

Capital & Budget Management

  • Assist in annual engineering budget development

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Master’s or PE license highly preferred
  • Leadership Experience: 3–5 years in formal management or supervisory role leading electrical teams
  • Technical Foundation: 10+ years in electrical design for power distribution, switchgear, or modular industrial buildings
  • Systemic Thinking: Ability to balance long-term process improvements with day-to-day demands
  • Communication: Translate technical challenges into business insights
  • Bonus Points:
    • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience
    • PLC/SCADA integration and medium-voltage power distribution
    • Experience growing engineering teams during rapid growth

Compensation

  • $141,750 - $162,000 + Bonus
