Summary

Owns P&L and strategic finance for compute infrastructure, including cloud/GPU forecasting, budget-vs-actual tracking, and capacity analysis. Partners with infra teams; requires 7-10+ years investment banking in infrastructure and strong modeling skills.

About the role

Responsibilities

Compute & Infrastructure Strategic Finance

  • Own Strategic Finance for all live compute spend, including Cloud and GPU Capacity.
  • Build and maintain per-region and per-partner cost forecasts; refresh on a cadence that supports monthly business reviews and quarterly board reporting.
  • Run budget-vs-actual on capacity commitments and infrastructure programs, tracking expected eventual spend against approved commitments and customer-driven demand.

Strategic Projects

  • Lead financial analysis for capacity-mix decisions, multi-region buildouts on key infrastructure components.
  • Handle operational finance asks tied to compute partners and live capacity — pricing reviews, true-ups, capacity reshuffles, and contract amendments.
  • Partner with the Infra and BD leads on deal-to-operations handoffs, ensuring budgets set at contract signing are operationalized at go-live and tracked through their full term.
  • Build the analytical backbone for gross margin, COGS attribution by customer and model family, and infrastructure ROI on new capacity bets.

Requirements

  • 7-10+ years of investment banking experience in Infrastructure.
  • Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently see issues through to resolution, including building complex unit-economics and capacity-planning models.
  • Comfort being the finance person in the partner/vendor room and partnering with deeply technical operating teams (infra engineering, capacity, SRE).
  • Proven track record of managing multiple work streams under tight timelines, with best-in-class attention to detail and unwavering commitment to accuracy.
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills to translate financial data into actionable insights for senior leadership and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Strong enthusiasm about technology and artificial intelligence, and a desire to work at the intersection of finance and the compute supply chain powering the AI era.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Direct experience with cloud commitment economics (committed-use discounts, reserved capacity, savings plans), GPU procurement.
  • Experience managing finance cadence with a third-party cloud, colocation, or managed-services provider.
  • Background in AI, ML, or high-performance, large-scale computing infrastructure.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation, including meaningful equity.
  • 100% coverage of medical, dental, and vision insurance for employee and dependents.
  • Flexible PTO policy including company wide Winter Break.
  • Paid parental leave.
  • Fertility and family-building stipend through Carrot.
  • Company-facilitated 401(k).
  • Exposure to a variety of ML startups.
