Director of Government Affairs
Lead federal legislative strategy and government relations for autonomy and AI in defense. Build Congressional relationships, draft policy positions, and shape legislation on emerging technologies.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and build networks of relationships with Members of Congress and Congressional staff on relevant Appropriations and Authorization Committees and Subcommittees
- Shape federal legislative priorities, political strategy, and policy development; understand business priorities, growth opportunities and potential risks to inform policy objectives
- Work closely with Applied’s business development teams, external government affairs consultants, associations, and industry partners
- Draft legislative language, policy briefings and presentations, hearing testimony, and position papers
- Build coalitions across interest groups for trusted autonomy
- Monitor and analyze federal legislative proposals
- Partner with cross-functional leaders to ensure successful completion across any special projects
Requirements
- 5-10 years of Capitol Hill, federal government, and/or issue advocacy experience
- Familiarity with federal legislative landscape and Appropriations/Authorization processes
- Expertise in defense, national security, autonomy, and/or emerging technologies
- Established bipartisan relationships with relevant Congressional offices and committees
- Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills and highly detail-oriented
- Proven track record of execution
Nice to Have
- 1-3 years of lobbying experience
- Graduate degree with a focus on legislative process, technology, and/or national security
- Technical background, particularly related to autonomy or artificial intelligence
Director of Compliance
Hands-on compliance leader managing trade surveillance, CFTC regulatory inquiries, and cross-functional compliance operations at a CFTC-regulated DCM/DCO exchange. Requires 8-12 years of experience with CFTC-regulated entities and strong knowledge of Parts 38, 39, 16, and 17.
Product Counsel
Product Counsel providing day-to-day legal guidance on U.S. payments and regulatory matters for a payouts platform, partnering with Product, Engineering, and Compliance teams. Requires 4-6 years of legal experience with fintech/payments regulatory knowledge.
Member of GRC Staff
Contribute to governance, risk, and compliance programs for an AI company, combining traditional security compliance with AI safety. Lead audits, manage privacy requests, and partner with research teams on responsible AI development.
