Senior Software Engineer, Ads Creative Effectiveness

Responsibilities

• Design and implement high-performance backends for ad creative generation.
• Own the architecture for brand asset preservation and style consistency, ensuring a modular, extensible GenAI stack integrated with Reddit’s infrastructure.
• Develop end-to-end image and video editing engines, including APIs and logic for complex asset manipulation while adhering to brand guidelines.
• Build scalable systems to ingest high-volume ad performance data and optimize the creative generation feedback loop.
• Architect systems for high-concurrency inference, latency optimization, and cost-efficient scaling.
• Design and maintain low-latency content filtering and compliance middleware to prevent non-compliant or infringing content from reaching the platform.
• Partner with Product, UX, and Ads ML leadership to define the technical roadmap and build integrations into the Ad Manager UI and delivery stacks.
• Lead design reviews, mentor engineers, and improve code quality, reliability, documentation, and engineering standards.

Requirements

• Extensive experience architecting and scaling distributed backend systems using technologies such as Python and Go.
• Proven experience designing robust, performant, extensible microservices and APIs.
• Strong experience integrating ML models with production software, including model serving, LLM/VLM data pipelines, and real-time generative workflows.
• Understanding of how technical decisions affect business outcomes, with experience translating advertiser needs into scalable product roadmaps.
• Strong ownership of system reliability, observability, and long-term maintainability in ambiguous environments.
• Exceptional communication and consensus-building skills across Product, Design, and ML teams.
• Experience explaining technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders and driving organizational alignment.
• Experience conducting design and code reviews, mentoring engineers, and fostering technical excellence.
• Proven experience building complex asset-heavy systems, such as automated image/video processing pipelines or high-scale content creation workflows.
