Responsibilities
- Lead the design and evolution of a scalable, available, and performant modern data platform.
- Apply architectural patterns including event-driven architecture, CQRS, event sourcing, and Saga patterns to complex data challenges.
- Establish and communicate standards and processes for dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, Kafka, and traditional ETL.
- Partner with senior leadership and IT leaders on strategic data initiatives, providing technical leadership and thought partnership.
- Architect and manage enterprise-scale data platforms, including security, privacy, monitoring and alerting, and CI/CD best practices.
- Implement advanced data modeling approaches such as Kimball, Inmon, and Data Vault, and advance modern concepts such as Data Mesh.
- Solve complex business problems through data-enabled solutions.
- Enforce best practices across the software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, and testing.
- Mentor engineers and foster a culture of learning and technical excellence.
- Use data to prioritize work and influence stakeholders, and proactively improve platforms and processes.
Requirements
- 7+ years of relevant professional engineering experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Strong data engineering experience with dbt, Snowflake, Kafka, and cloud services including AWS S3, EMR, and Glue.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, Airflow, Tableau, MySQL, and Oracle.
- Deep knowledge of professional software engineering practices across the technology management lifecycle.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Agile development.
- Experience with event-driven architecture, CQRS, event sourcing, Saga patterns, and Data Mesh.

- Salary: $134,000–$175,000 plus target bonus for Colorado-based candidates.
