Staff Platform Engineer
Staff Platform Engineer will build and improve automated delivery pipelines, developer environments, infrastructure, and release systems across the engineering organization. The role requires 6+ years of engineering experience, a bachelor’s degree, and expertise with CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, containers, and infrastructure as code.

Responsibilities
- Help define the direction and initiatives for the platform team.
- Build automated bootstrapping and delivery pipelines.
- Promote self-service engineering technologies and approaches.
- Improve local development environments while maintaining consistency.
- Build self-healing infrastructure to enable fast, robust automated testing.
- Improve system performance and reliability.
- Host brown-bag sessions and demos to drive adoption and collaboration.
- Coach and mentor engineers and collaborate on designs.
Requirements
- 6+ years of engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- Experience building CI/CD infrastructure with solutions such as Tekton, Prow, CircleCI, Jenkins, Spinnaker, and GitHub Actions.
- Experience improving software development lifecycle release processes.
- Experience streamlining microservice creation and developers’ local environments.
- Expertise in Git flow and versioning strategies.
- Experience facilitating reproducible builds across an organization.
- Experience improving developer experience with multiple stakeholders in a large organization.
- Experience with Go, Ruby on Rails, Python, or similar languages.
- Working knowledge of AWS services and technologies.
- Experience with infrastructure as code and configuration management.
- Experience with large-scale distributed release management processes.
- Experience with containers and orchestration frameworks such as Kubernetes.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Gerrit and Android OS (AOSP) build systems.
- Experience with embedded-systems builds and compilation.
Compensation
- United States compensation range: $164,000–$236,000 USD.
- Benefits include health, pharmacy, optical and dental care, paid time off, disability coverage, life insurance, and 401(k) contributions, subject to eligibility requirements.
