Responsibilities
Own the health of the field data pipeline by monitoring data capture and uploads from program sites, diagnosing failures, and driving issues to resolution remotely.
Provide Level 2 remote support to Level 1 on-site staff and program teams across field networking, operator control stations, and message-transport systems.
Debug Linux systems, networking, and data and communications tooling; resolve issues directly or coordinate with the appropriate engineering owner.
Read and write Python to inspect, patch, and improve support and automation scripts.
Document recurring problems and fixes so Level 1 staff can self-serve.
Travel to program sites for hands-on Level 1 support, approximately 25–35% of the time.
Contribute to software development, tooling, automation, and features when the support queue is light.
Flex across adjacent software and infrastructure tasks as team needs shift.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent hands-on experience.
Solid networking fundamentals, including IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, VLANs, and VPNs.
Ability to configure and troubleshoot networks from the ground up.
Comfort with Linux and command-line debugging, including logs, services, processes, and connectivity.
Ability to read and write Python for scripting and troubleshooting.
Strong attention to detail and a methodical, follow-through approach.
Clear communication skills and the ability to guide non-experts remotely.
Willingness to travel to program sites approximately 25–35% of the time.
Strong willingness to work with agentic AI.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting deployed or field systems or remote sites.
Familiarity with data pipelines, upload workflows, or large-file data movement.
Experience with field or tactical networking, including mesh radios, unreliable links, NAT, and gateways.
Exposure to DevOps practices such as CI/CD, containers, configuration management, and monitoring/alerting.
Some C or C++ experience.
Bash scripting experience.
Comfort with cloud or on-premises storage.
Prior help-desk, IT, field-service, or Tier 2 support experience.
Interest in robotics, autonomy, and field-deployment teams.
Compensation and Benefits
Annual salary range: $120,000–$200,000.
