About the role
Core Responsibilities
Work on product teams with minimal supervision and own end-to-end execution of real product features.
Collaborate with fellow Designers, Product Managers, Developers, and Forward Deployed Engineers to refine and evolve the quality of Palantir products.
Interaction and visual design: Define early product concepts, flesh out high-level workflows and micro-interactions, and execute crisp and effective visual designs. Use tools such as Figma for designing and prototyping.
User research: Conduct informal user research, including visiting customer offices for interviews. Pair qualitative methods (e.g., scripted usability tests and contextual inquiry) with quantitative data like product and usage metrics.
Deliver and communicate designs: Collaborate closely with product and forward deployed engineers to prototype and build products. Treat engineers and product managers as partners.
What We Value
Excellent collaboration and communication skills to build relationships with engineers, PMs, and stakeholders; convey and debate design rationale.
High empathy and dedication to the user.
An iterative design process: validate ideas early, seek and respond to feedback, move fast, listen, adapt, and prioritize collaboration. Adept at giving and receiving critiques.
Excitement for solving hard, complex problems, especially in technically complex and data-dense interfaces. Ability to define simple, approachable, yet powerful product experiences.
Willingness to learn, make decisions independently, and ask questions when needed.
What We Require
Must be planning on graduating in 2027.
A portfolio demonstrating at least one software interface design project (include password for protected portfolios in application).
Design intuitive, user-centered interfaces and experiences for B2B SaaS products, collaborating with product managers, developers, and designers. The role requires a strong portfolio, proficiency with Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, and an understanding of accessibility, usability, and design systems.
