Chassis Controls Engineer, Brakes & Steering

Responsibilities

  • Author, refine, and maintain technical specifications for brake controls with external suppliers and cross-functional internal teams.
  • Lead suppliers in developing brake control functions, meeting performance targets, and delivering firmware releases for company milestones.
  • Design and develop diagnostic scripts and tools for system troubleshooting and validation.
  • Lead triage, resolution, and impact assessment of supplier firmware defects using architecture and system design insights.
  • Collaborate with experts in AI, mechatronics, computer vision, and robotics to integrate innovations into the vehicle platform.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in the automotive or aerospace industry.
  • Direct ownership of functional development, tuning, or validation for hydraulic braking systems, such as ABS, ESC, TCS, or e-brake, at an automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier.
  • Experience debugging complex issues across hardware, software, and firmware.
  • Extensive experience developing, configuring, and operating Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test benches for automated firmware regression testing.
  • Strong understanding of the automotive product development lifecycle, including software release processes, change management, and long-term schedule planning.

Nice-to-haves

  • Hands-on experience with Vector CANalyzer/CANoe, dSPACE ControlDesk/ConfigurationDesk, Polarion, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Familiarity with CAN, CAN-FD, ISO 26262, and ASIL-D.
  • Experience writing test scripts with Python, MATLAB/Simulink, or CAPL to automate HIL validation suites.
