About the role
Responsibilities
Own JIRA as the engineering source of truth — workflows, statuses, hygiene standards, and dashboards that reflect how we actually deliver.
Track and report on flow metrics (cycle time, throughput, WIP, flow efficiency, predictability) at the team level with regular trend reviews.
Monitor bug backlog health — inflow vs. outflow — and partner with QE and engineering managers to keep the trend moving in the right direction.
Facilitate the Scrum of Scrums to surface cross-team dependencies and blockers before they compound and track resolutions to ensure the path is clear for success.
Audit and improve the SDLC and agile ceremonies across teams (standups, retros, sprint planning, refinement) by coaching engineering managers and scrum leads.
Drive a consistent engineering operating rhythm — standardized cadences, demo practices, and planning processes across teams.
Own the release process for our 21CFR-regulated environment — change control documentation, release procedures, and coordination with the team that handles validation and audit activities.
Define and maintain the deployment process for weekly web application releases — runbooks, go/no-go criteria, and communication templates that give engineers clear rails to execute against.
Maintain a visible risk and blocker register, reviewed often with engineering and product leadership.
Run agile maturity assessments across teams and drive targeted, practical improvements.
Deliver a quarterly engineering delivery report summarizing execution health and trend data for leadership.
Build and maintain the delivery onboarding playbook so new engineers and managers ramp on our actual operating model.
Take advantage of AI tooling to automate manual reporting/tasks and drive insights and analytics with the purpose of making our team better.
Requirements
4+ years of agile delivery, program management, or release management experience across multiple software engineering teams.
A lean towards simple solutions over complex; KISS principles.
Strong fluency in flow-based metrics; you have actually moved the needle on cycle time or predictability at a previous company, not just reported on it.
Experience defining and managing release processes in regulated software environments (21CFR, SOC 2, HIPAA, or similar).
Servant-leader posture. You coach without being preachy and add process only when it earns its place.
Comfortable working across a distributed, fast-moving engineering organization without direct authority.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; you can translate delivery data into a story leadership actually acts on.
Self-starter with strong organizational instincts; you make things visible before they become problems.
Experience with AI Tooling such as openAI, Claude, or Gemini for automating work and data analysis with JIRA or similar tool.
Nice-to-Haves
Experience in a B2B SaaS company at the 30–100 engineer scale.
Familiarity with agile reporting tools (EazyBI, Jellyfish, LinearB, or similar).
SAFe, Scrum@Scale, or ICAgile certification (signal, not requirement).
Experience partnering directly with QA and compliance teams on release validation.
Proximity to the Charlotte, NC metro area.
