Staff Android Engineer - Rider Experience & Mobile Platform

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and release features and products in the Lyft Rider application.
• Define long-term roadmaps and architecture based on technology and product needs.
• Oversee major changes to Android architecture.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to deliver a high-quality user experience.
• Evaluate and implement technologies to improve developer efficiency.
• Mentor and support developers through code reviews, design feedback, and technical guidance.
• Solve complex real-time data transfer and synchronization issues.
• Implement pixel-perfect designs with advanced interactions.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience as an Android developer.
• Advanced knowledge of Java and Kotlin.
• Familiarity with RxJava.
• Strong knowledge of architecture and design patterns.
• Experience working on and shipping large-scale Android applications.
• Strong product sense and care for usability and design.
• Experience collaborating with product managers, designers, and engineering teams to build complex products.

Compensation

• Expected base pay range in the San Francisco area: $176,000–$220,000.
• Potential equity, bonus, and benefits are not included in the base pay range.
