Responsibilities
Own the Android SDK architecture, implementation, and long-term technical direction.
Own the Android SDKs’ technical backlog and architectural roadmap.
Lead development and maintenance of Android Voice and Video SDKs, including the underlying WebRTC, ReSiprocate, and C++ layer.
Drive build pipeline stability and participate in CI/CD migration efforts.
Define Android best practices and provide Android-specific guidance across the organization.
Collaborate with iOS, JavaScript, and React Native SDK teams on cross-platform convergence.
Conduct code reviews and maintain high standards for quality, correctness, and test coverage.
Partner with product and platform leads to evaluate feasibility, estimate effort, and deliver roadmap commitments.
Contribute to knowledge sharing and documentation.
Enhance automated tests and code coverage.
Own the customer developer experience.
Monitor and triage customer and Git repository issues.
Enhance Voice and Video Android reference applications.
Requirements
10+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on Android development.
Deep expertise in the Android ecosystem and SDK development, including third-party SDK expectations.
Experience with real-time communication technologies such as WebRTC, SIP, and RTP is strongly preferred.
Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, and C++.
Familiarity with CI/CD systems and mobile build pipelines.
Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate technical decisions and trade-offs.
Ability to work cross-functionally and influence without authority.
Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to a collaborative team culture.
Familiarity with Claude and GitHub Copilot.
Nice to Have
Experience with ReSiprocate or other SIP stacks.
Experience working on public-facing developer SDKs.
Familiarity with supply chain security practices for mobile SDKs.
