Senior Frontend Engineer, Community Builders
Build and evolve user-facing frontend products that help Reddit communities grow, contributing across design, development, experimentation, launch, and maintenance. The role requires 6+ years of frontend software development experience, modern web framework expertise, and strong ownership and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain user-facing product features with strong performance, security, and scalability.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, data scientists, and engineers to deliver high-quality products.
- Contribute across the development lifecycle, including technical design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch.
- Review code and design documents and provide feedback on product specifications and mocks.
- Define standards that improve developer workflows and recommend best practices.
- Coach and mentor engineers on the team.
- Continuously develop technical and non-technical skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative or computer science-related field, or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of software development experience in one or more front-end-focused programming languages.
- Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, or ES6.
- Experience with one or more front-end web frameworks, such as Lit, Polymer, React, Vue, or Angular.
- Experience with CSS.
- Ability to take end-to-end ownership of projects from design through deployment and maintenance.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Self-directed, innovative, action-oriented approach in fast-paced environments.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, or Thrift.
- Ability to design and implement maintainable APIs.
- Passion for learning and adapting to new technologies.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary range: $190,000–$267,000 USD.
- Eligible for equity in the form of restricted stock units; some positions may also be eligible for commission.
