Supports and evolves Azure cloud services for NLM, maintaining production environments, automating administration, and assisting developers with cloud operations. Requires strong Linux and Azure administration experience, networking knowledge, scripting, and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities
- Support developers and production services operating in the NLM Microsoft Azure environment.
- Participate in technical and management discussions, including new architecture efforts.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies.
- Operate and maintain existing cloud services.
- Help develop tools to monitor and manage cloud environments and enforce established policies.
Requirements
- Strong Linux systems administration experience, particularly CentOS 7 or Red Hat 7.
- Experience managing Microsoft Azure cloud resources, including user management, roles and permissions, compute instances, virtual networks and subnets, routing, and firewall rules/security groups.
- Experience writing scripts to automate management tasks.
- Familiarity with networking concepts, including subnetting, basic routing, UDP, TCP, and ICMP.
- Ability to manage firewall rules and troubleshoot effectively.
- Some programming experience for developing cloud management tools, using one or more of Bourne/bash shell, Ruby, Python, or Perl.
- Ability to work independently, learn quickly, and adapt to a changing environment.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Familiarity with continuous integration tools such as TeamCity, Jenkins, or GitLab.
- Microsoft Windows systems administration experience.
- Experience with Active Directory and Active Directory Federation Services.
- Experience managing resources with Puppet.
- Experience automating cloud resource management through native CLIs or APIs.
- Experience with Packer, Terraform, or cloud-init.
- Experience with enterprise monitoring tools such as Nagios, Splunk, Telegraf, or InfluxDB.
- Experience with Amazon CloudWatch and CloudTrail.
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools, including Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
- Experience with Git.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
- Programming experience with Bourne/bash shell, Ruby, Python, or Perl.
