Senior Engineering Manager, Video Enablement

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Director of Video Engineering, product management, and cross-functional teams to shape and execute the video streaming roadmap.
• Lead the Video Enablement team through the design, build, and support of core video capabilities, including third-party device integrations, mobile-first live streaming and capture, ingest, transcoding, storage, and playback.
• Measure and improve live and VOD streaming experiences using data and user empathy.
• Hire, onboard, and develop a high-performing team of mobile, backend, and infrastructure engineers.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership through code review, occasional development, solutions architecture, and mentorship.
• Partner with infrastructure teams to maintain a resilient, scalable, and cost-efficient video pipeline in AWS.
• Enable product feature and computer vision teams to build on video infrastructure through clear interfaces, documentation, and collaboration.
• Participate in production incident response and support the team when needed.

Requirements

• Strong background in video and audio streaming, including user-generated content and live-streaming technologies.
• Proven record of delivering projects in video streaming.
• Collaborative leadership style with strong listening, communication, and influencing skills.
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles and cloud architecture in resilient, scalable video infrastructure environments.
• Strategic thinking and ability to contribute to long-term engineering vision.
• Comfortable operating as a player-coach and mentoring senior and staff engineers.
• Experience with AWS.
• Familiarity with coding languages common in the video space, such as Go, Rust, or C#, is a plus.
• Familiarity with Node.js, TypeScript, React, Kotlin, or Swift is a plus.
