About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain high-throughput, low-latency APIs and backend microservices for flight search, booking, and payment workflows.
  • Own features end to end, including technical architecture, data modeling, production coding, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Build fault-tolerant systems with automated testing, observability, alerting, and telemetry.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineering Leads to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, contribute to shared frameworks, and promote engineering best practices.
  • Evaluate technologies, frameworks, and tools to modernize the backend stack and refine architecture.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of professional backend software development experience.
  • Strong foundations in data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and API design.
  • Experience delivering production-grade applications with comprehensive testing, monitoring, and documentation.
  • Proficiency in Java and experience with Spring, Spring Boot, and Hibernate or other ORMs.
  • Experience building and deploying cloud-native applications on AWS using microservice architectures.
  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures, caching strategies, relational databases, and distributed state.
  • Strong problem-solving and cross-functional communication skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with consumer-facing products, high-availability transactional platforms, or travel technology integrations.

Compensation

  • Pay range: $92,475–$205,700 USD.
