Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the design system, including components, patterns, and standards for product and web surfaces.
• Build the public web presence, including the marketing site and campaign pages.
• Improve in-product surfaces in partnership with product designers and engineers.
• Own interaction, motion, typography, layout, accessibility, and performance fundamentals.
• Define and document AI-native workflows using tools such as Cursor and Claude Code.
• Run web experiments and instrument surfaces so design decisions are grounded in measurable outcomes.
• Partner across product design, engineering, product, and marketing to evolve the system.

Requirements and Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience spanning design and front-end engineering.
• Strong front-end skills with React, TypeScript, modern HTML and CSS, and WebGL.
• Experience building or significantly evolving a design system or component library at a product company.
• Strong visual and interaction design skills with a portfolio demonstrating the work.
• Comfort building on a CMS; Sanity is preferred.
• Experience running web experiments and managing web analytics.
• Ability to move quickly, find shortcuts, and deliver on ambitious goals.
• High NPS with former teammates.
