Senior Manager, Infrastructure Lease Accounting

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end accounting for the infrastructure lease portfolio, including monthly close, reconciliations, roll-forwards, and flux analysis.
• Apply technical accounting expertise to complex infrastructure arrangements under ASC 842, including lease classification, measurement, modifications, embedded leases, and reassessments.
• Partner with Real Estate, Legal, and Finance during contract negotiation and execution to clarify accounting implications.
• Advise non-finance stakeholders on the financial statement impact of business decisions.
• Improve upstream data pipelines from operational and contract systems.
• Design and scale systems, processes, and controls for a growing lease portfolio.
• Mentor accounting professionals across the Infrastructure Accounting team.
• Serve as a key contact for external auditors on lease accounting matters.
• Drive process improvements and automation, including AI tooling, to improve financial reporting efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field; CPA or equivalent preferred.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge of ASC 842, particularly for infrastructure, data center, or compute-related arrangements.
• Experience managing a significant lease portfolio in a high-growth environment.
• Strong analytical skills and comfort with large, complex datasets.
• Experience improving scalable financial processes in fast-moving environments.
• Experience mentoring and developing accounting professionals.
• Ability to translate technical accounting concepts into financial implications for non-finance stakeholders.
• Strong communication and cross-functional influence skills.
• Experience partnering with engineering, infrastructure, or operations teams to improve financial reporting and cost transparency.

Nice-to-haves

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including operational experience at technology or infrastructure-heavy companies.
• Experience at hyperscalers, large compute consumers, or data center operators, including colocation, dark fiber IRUs, and compute or equipment leases.
• Experience with lease accounting software at scale.
• SQL proficiency for querying and analyzing infrastructure and accounting datasets.
• Big Four accounting or advisory experience combined with industry experience.
• Experience with complex data center buildouts or hybrid cloud/on-premise environments.
• Knowledge of AI/ML infrastructure and associated cost structures.
• Experience applying AI tooling, including Claude, to accounting processes, memo drafting, or close automation.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive results in rapidly changing environments.

Compensation

• Annual salary range: $190,000–$230,000 USD.
