Senior Software Engineer, Edge

Responsibilities

• Build robust, scalable, and maintainable backend services in Java and Scala for mission-critical operations.
• Design and implement gRPC APIs for high-performance, real-time data transfer between services.
• Use Redis and MySQL for efficient data storage and retrieval, with a focus on reliability and low latency.
• Deploy and manage microservices on Kubernetes, optimizing scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency.
• Use Kafka to build scalable, event-driven architectures for real-time data streaming and processing.
• Partner with Hardware, Machine Learning, and Operations teams to ensure seamless ecosystem integration and provide appropriate tooling.
• Analyze and address performance and scalability bottlenecks while maintaining system reliability and data integrity.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of backend development experience, preferably in platform or core services.
• Expertise in industry-standard programming languages, preferably Java and Scala.
• Experience building gRPC APIs for efficient and reliable service communication.
• Strong understanding of database design and optimization using Redis and MySQL.
• Familiarity with container orchestration and scaling using Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures.
• Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to solve complex technical problems and design innovative solutions.
• Strong communication, collaboration, learning, and proactive problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-Have

• Exposure to frontend integration with frameworks such as Next.js.

Compensation and Benefits

• Four days per week in the office under the company's office-first model.
• Anticipated base salary: $170,000.00–$200,000.00 USD annually.
