Staff Product Manager, Cloud Namespace & Capacity

About the role

Responsibilities

  • Own the full Cloud Namespace lifecycle for an operator using Temporal Cloud, including workload analysis, provisioning and management flows, configuration defaults and policies, in-place updates, and safe deletion.
  • Define and evolve differentiated Namespace offerings with options for SLA, latency, durability, residency, and cost that customers can easily understand and trust.
  • Own throughput and capacity management for Namespaces, including autoscaling, TRUs, reserved versus elastic capacity, scheduling, visibility, limits, and quotas.
  • Drive operational policies and features such as Namespace placement in deployment rings, replication, and scaling to deliver a performant, reliable, and cost-effective service at massive multi-tenant scale.
  • Define and own Namespace SLOs and SLAs, including instrumentation and customer-facing communication of performance and reliability expectations.
  • Own the Namespace APIs and configuration used by customer automation, the Temporal Cloud UI, and other products and services.

Requirements

  • Product leadership experience shipping and operating platform or infrastructure products, especially products involving reliability, performance, and cost tradeoffs.
  • Strong systems thinking and the ability to translate workload needs into tiering, pricing, policy, quotas, limits, and defaults that scale across many customers.
  • Ability to partner closely with engineering on autoscaling, capacity planning, rolling deployment and placement logic, and resilience patterns.
  • Experience defining and managing SLOs and SLAs and using metrics to drive product decisions and prioritization.
  • Ability to build alignment across Engineering, Cloud Ops/SRE, Support, Sales, Solutions, and Security stakeholders and make clear decisions in ambiguous environments.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, including crisp PRDs, decision documents, and customer-facing explanations.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with multi-tenant systems, workload isolation, and noisy-neighbor mitigation.
  • Familiarity with API product design for long-lived resource lifecycle operations and safe evolution over time.
  • Experience with placement, routing, data residency, or geo-distributed reliability problems.
  • Experience building pricing and packaging inputs for tiered services in partnership with Finance and GTM.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Estimated salary range: $185,000–$260,000, based on experience and location.
  • Eligible to participate in the company's equity plan.
