Staff Product Manager

About the role

What You’ll Do

  • Own the product vision, strategy, and execution for a new marketplace.
  • Lead the product from initial discovery through MVP definition, launch, iteration, and scale.
  • Conduct user interviews and ongoing discovery across marketplace participants.
  • Develop deep understanding of user workflows, incentives, constraints, and trust requirements.
  • Design experiences supporting both human users and automated participants.
  • Define how participants discover opportunities, evaluate fit, establish trust, and engage.
  • Translate operational needs into clear product requirements, priorities, and roadmaps.
  • Partner with a small team of 3-5 engineers to define scope, sequence delivery, and make technical/product tradeoffs.
  • Lead or support sprint planning, backlog prioritization, acceptance criteria, and product reviews.
  • Use operational signals, user feedback, and product data to improve matching quality and performance.
  • Balance near-term experimentation with longer-term scalable platform development.
  • Brief executive leadership on strategy, progress, risks, tradeoffs, and decisions.
  • Create alignment across engineering, users, and leadership.

Must Have

  • Demonstrated experience taking a product or major capability from 0→1.
  • Experience as a Product Manager with meaningful ownership of strategy and execution.
  • Strong user interview, discovery, and synthesis skills.
  • Experience defining and launching MVPs, using feedback and signals for iteration.
  • Deep understanding of user experience, workflows, and how product decisions shape behavior.
  • Experience working closely with technical leads and engineers to scope, prioritize, and sequence development.
  • Ability to operate effectively with a small engineering team and provide execution clarity.
  • Strong product judgment in ambiguous or low-signal environments.
  • Ability to communicate complex decisions to technical teams and executive leadership.
